Danish new car sales continue on their record-breaking pace with June up 1.2% to 23.959 registrations, a record for the month, leading to a year-to-date tally up 5.8% to 123.791, also a record after six months. Volkswagen remains ultra-dominant in the brands ranking with a 13% market share thanks to sales up 6%. The next four carmakers all post double-digit year-on-year gains, resulting in drastically improved shares: Renault is up 19% to 9.3%, Peugeot up 16% to 9%, Toyota up 12% to 7.8% and Opel up 10% to 6.4%. In contrast, Citroen (-15%) and Ford (-25%) lose significant ground but Mercedes (+22%), BMW (+40%), Volvo (+77%), Jaguar (+75%), Alfa Romeo (+208%) and Land Rover (+400%) all impress further down. No surprises atop the models ranking: the Peugeot 208 holds onto the top spot thanks to deliveries up 17% ahead of the VW Up up 6%. The Toyota Yaris (+17%), Renault Clio (+28%), VW Golf (+32%), Citroen C1 (+79%) and Skoda Octavia (+32%) all frankly outpace the market within the Top 7 while the Renault Megane shoots up 156% to #9 and the Peugeot 2008 is up 298% to #14.
