Kazakhstan May 2017: Lada 4×4 teases Camry for #1, market back up
The Lada 4×4 is only 8 units off the Kazakh pole position this month.

Thanks to our partnership with autoconsulting.kz, we can share with you May 2017 data for Kazakhstan, a market back up 10% year-on-year to 3.821 new vehicles but still down 13% year-to-date at 15.588. Toyota remains the most popular carmaker in the country with a strong 21.2% this month vs. 20% year-to-date, distancing Lada at 16.6% vs. 17.6% so far this year. Ravon, the new brand replacing UZ-Daewoo, is back up to third place with 6.7% of the market above Hyundai, GAZ and Kia. Peugeot is up 21 spots on April to #13 vs. #20 YTD. The Toyota Camry continues to dominate the models ranking but this time only 8 units separate it from the #2, the valiant Lada 4×4 aka Niva. The GAZ Gazelle rounds up the podium like it does YTD and the Toyota RAV4 is up two spots on April to #4, also earning the #4 spot YTD. The Ravon R4 (a rebadged Chevrolet Cobalt) is now the brand’s best-seller at #8 (+5 on April) while the Nexia R3 is down 7 ranks to #12. The new generation boosts the Peugeot 301 up 101 spots on last month (!) to #13.
