UK nations February 2017: Vauxhall Mokka X settles in Top 10

After the overall UK Top 10 and thanks to SMMT we can now share with you the Top 10 best-sellers for each UK nation in January. Keep in mind this is only a zoom in by nation, all sales figures are already included in the UK update. As it has now become routine, England, representing 86% of the overall UK market, is the only nation in positive at +1.9% to 71.155 units, with Norther Ireland down 11.2% to 4.272, Scotland down 11.3% to 5.186 and Wales down a harsh 15.2% to 2.058. Year-to-date, England is up 2.9%, Scotland down 3.2%, Wales down 4% and Northern Ireland down 5.4%. After topping just two nations last month (England and Wales), the overall market leader, the Ford Fiesta, manages three wins in February: England, Scotland and Wales. The VW Golf brilliantly holds onto the top spot in Northern Ireland for the 5th consecutive month thanks to sales up 20% year-on-year.
The Ford Ecosport ranks 8th in Wales this month.
The Vauxhall Astra (#3 in the overall UK ranking) ranks #2 in Scotland, #3 in England but #10 in Northern Ireland and ousted the Welsh Top 10. The Ford Focus for its part – the UK #4 in February, is 2nd in Wales, 3rd in Scotland, 4th in England and 5th in Northern Ireland. Other outstanding performers in the UK nations for the month include the Mercedes C-Class up 61% to #5 in England, the Hyundai Tucson at #3 in Northern Ireland and the Vauxhall Mokka X positing two Top 10 rankings for the second month running: in Wales (record #5) and Scotland (#8).
