Austria November 2016: Mercedes up 52%, VW places 6 in Top 8

The Austrian new car market is up 4% year-on-year in November to 26.273 registrations, lifting the year-to-date tally up 6% to 303.942 units. Market leader Volkswagen holds 16.5% market share and is followed this month by Opel up 3 spots on October to #2. Mercedes (+52%) is the best performer in the Top 10, up 8 ranks on last month to brilliantly land on the third step of the podium. Renault (+24%), Seat (+46%), Fiat (+23%), Suzuki (+32%) and Dacia (+15%) also shine inside the Top 15. Below, Toyota (+58%), Smart (+95%), Porsche (+64%) and Lexus (+142%) impress. Model-wise, despite sales down 8% the VW Golf remains on top, ahead of the VW Tiguan (+55%), Skoda Octavia (-9%) and VW Polo (-19%). In fact, Volkswagen places six nameplates in the Top 8 with the Caddy (+49%), Sharan (+3%) and Bus (+48%). The Hyundai Tucson (+49%), Audi A4 (+69%) and Seat Leon (+69%) also shoot up, while among recent launches the Seat Ateca (#24), Fiat Tipo (#48), Alfa Giulia (#98) and Renault Talisman (#99) dominate.
