Croatia July-August 2016: VW Golf and Suzuki Vitara lead

The Croatian new car market is up by a splendid 37% year-on-year in August to 2.365 registrations, lifting the year-to-date tally up 21% to 32.330 units. Volkswagen spectacularly beats the market at +63% to hit 14.3% share atop the brands ranking ahead of Skoda at 7.5% (+6%). Dacia shoots up 272% on August 2015 to land in third place with 7.2% of the market, distancing Opel (+22%) and Suzuki (+56%). Hyundai is up 13-fold to #6, Audi up 57% to #9, Toyota up 49% to #10, Fiat up 733%, Alfa Romeo up 260%, Volvo up 600% and Smart up 120%. Model-wise, the VW Golf soars 80% to remain in pole position and distances the Suzuki Vitara up 57% for a stunning second consecutive month at #2. The Seat Leon ranks #3 (vs. #19 year-to-date) despite sales down 14% year-on-year. Other great performers include the Skoda Rapid (+261%), Opel Corsa (+176%) and Dacia Sandero (+364%).
