Colombia August 2016: Concentration around four top selling marques

According to ANDEMOS, the Chevrolet Spark is the best-seller in Colombia so far in 2016.

After an abysmal 34% drop in July, the Colombian new car market stabilises in August at just -3% to 22.443 registrations. The year-to-date tally remains in great difficulty at -15% to 157.231 units. Strikingly, all four best-selling marques post year-on-year gains, resulting in a frank concentration of the market towards trusted fares. Chevrolet (+7%), Renault (+6%), Kia (+9%) and Mazda (+34%) add up to a mammoth 63.1% of total August sales vs. 55.5% a year ago. Toyota (+24%), Hino (+27%), Volkswagen (+43%), JAC (+56%) and Foton (+132%) all lodge spectacular gains inside the Top 30.
