Slovakia June 2016: Skoda Fabia back in charge in market up 15%

The Skoda Fabia is the best-selling nameplate in Slovakia in June.

New car sales in Slovakia gain a solid 15% year-on-year in June to 9.081 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total up 19% to 47.955 units. Skoda remains comfortably in the driving seat with 18% share, distancing Volkswagen (8.1%), Kia (6.7%), Opel (6.6%) and Hyundai (6.1%). Dacia is particularly strong at #8 and 5% share vs. 4% year-to-date, as is BMW at #11. The Skoda Fabia resumes its domination after dropping to #2 in May despite a 14% year-on-year dip to 535 sales, ahead of the Skoda Octavia (419), Rapid (373) and Kia Cee’d (274). The Opel Astra doubles its sales year-on-year (+99%) to soar to 5th place overall, with the Suzuki Vitara (#6), Skoda Superb (#8), Hyundai Tucson (#10) and Dacia Sandero (#12) also impressive.
