Philippines First Half 2016: Vios and Everest shine in market up 38%
The Ford Everest ranks 6th overall so far this year in the Philippines.

According to the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (Campi) and the Association of Vehicle Imports and Distributors (Avid), the Philippine new car market continues to gallop ahead with a stunning 38% surge to hit a record 212.901 units. The industry target for 2016, set at 350.000, will be smashed the same way the market exceeded the 310.000 objective in 2015 by posting sales of 323.928. At the current growth rate, 2016 will end with just under 450.000 sales. Toyota is in command as usual but drops 3.3 percentage points with deliveries up “just” 261% to 72.642. Mitsubishi (+21%) comes second at 14.3% share ahead of Ford (+61%), Hyundai (+53%), and Honda (+28%). Model-wise, the Toyota Vios reigns supreme with 17.022 sales but sees its market share thaw to 8% from 9.6% a year ago. It is followed by the Toyota Fortuner (11.561) and Hiace (10.247) with the Mitsubishi Mirage and Toyota Wigo rounding up the Top 5. The Ford Everest surges to 6th place thanks to the new model, the Toyota Avanza is up 75% to #10, the Toyota Hilux up 76% to #11 and the Mitsubishi Adventure up 86% to #13.
