Netherlands July 2016: VW Polo, Golf and Up on podium

The Dutch new car market is back into negative territory in July with deliveries down 8% to 31.261, leading yo a year-to-date tally down 4% to 225.223. After being outpaced by Renault in June, Volkswagen resumes its implacable Dutch reign with sales up 11% to 5.167 for a 16.5% market share vs. 11.7% year-to-date. Renault is down to #2 despite sales up 25% with Opel rounding up the podium at +31%. Peugeot (-32%), Ford (-12%), Toyota (-13%), Kia (-14%) and BMW (-13%) follow but all lose ground. Hyundai (+10%), Skoda (+7%), Suzuki (+13%) and Seat (+51%) are the only other Top 20 marques posting year-on-year gains. Jaguar (+14%), Honda (+23%), Dacia (+68%) and Land Rover (+91%) impress. Model-wise, it’s a Volkswagen hegemony, with the Polo (4.5%), Golf (3.7%) and Up (3.5%) in the lead ahead of the Renault Clio, Opel Astra and Hyundai i10. Notice also the Volvo V40 at #12, the Renault Kadjar at #20, Toyota Auris at #25 and VW Tiguan at #26.
