Kazakhstan July 2016: Toyota Camry outpaces Ladas to snap #1 spot

The Toyota Camry is the best-selling vehicle in Kazakhstan in July.

Thanks to autoconsulting.kz, we can now share with you July data for Kazakhstan, a market engulfed in recession with sales down 61% year-on-year this month to just 3.393 units. Keeping in mind July 2015 was already down 46% on the prior year, the 2016 year-to-date tally now stands at 25.399, down 59% on the same period last year. Russian carmaker Lada exactly follows the market at -61% to 20.7% share, whereas Toyota doubles its market share compared to a year ago to 16.1% thanks to deliveries down “just” 21%. Below, Hyundai (-72%), Kia (-71%) and Renault (-70%) implode. Heavy truck manufacturer Kamaz (+15%) is the only brand gaining ground in the Top 10. In the models ranking, the Toyota Camry frankly outpaces all Ladas to take the lead of the charts thanks to 361 sales and 10.6% share, ahead of the Lada Granta (206) and the valiant Lada 4×4 (200). The GAZ Gazelle, Lada Priora, Hyundai Elantra and Accent follow.
