Belarus First Half 2016: VW Polo back in charge in positive market
The VW Polo is back to #1 car in Belarus so far in 2016.

The Belorussian new light vehicle market is back into positive territory over the First Half of 2016, gaining 6% year-on-year to hit 12.069 units. Renault maintains its stranglehold on the market with just under 30% share (+11%) while Volkswagen gallops up 25% to 17.1%, Lada is up 16% to 9.1% and Skoda up 42% to 8%. Reversely, Nissan crumbles down 44% to 7.6% share in 5th place. GAZ (+44%), Kia (+47%), Ford (+38%), Mercedes (+74%), Mitsubishi (+407%), Volvo (+283%) and Citroen (+190%) also shine. At the other end of the scale, Peugeot (-34%), Hyundai (-35%), Chevrolet (-44%), Subaru (-61%), Great Wall (-87%) and Opel (-94%) implode.
The Audi Q7 breaks into the Belorussian Top 25.
Model-wise, the VW Polo reclaims the pole position that was its own from 2013 to 2015 after the Renault Sandero roared ahead over Q1. The Polo sells 1.620 units vs. 1.400 for the Sandero, 75.3% being the Stepway variant. The Renault Duster is solid in third place and 10% share ahead of the Renault Logan, Skoda Rapid and Lada Largus. The GAZ Gazelle climbs back up to #7, the Hyundai Accent is up to #8, the Lada Vesta plateaus already at #15 and we welcome the Audi Q7 (#25) and Chery Tiggo (#27) among the Belorussian best-sellers.
