Sweden June 2016: Thirty consecutive months of year-on-year gains
Volvo outpaces its home market to hit 22.1% market share.

The Swedish new car market celebrates 30 consecutive months of year-on-year gains to hit the biggest June sales figure ever recorded at 36.307 units, up 13% on June 2015. Halfway through the year, a record 187.591 new cars have been sold in Sweden, a 12% improvement on the same period last year. Volvo brilliantly outpaces its home market to secure a 22.1% market share vs. a round 20% year-date, distancing Volkswagen at 15.3%, up an even more impressive 35%. BMW (+11%) jumps to third overall, ahead of Toyota (-6%), Audi (-0.5%) and Kia (+11%). Renault (+49%), Mercedes (+28%), Opel (+25%), Mazda (+61%), Dacia (+33%), Seat (+41%), Porsche (+27%) and Jaguar (+221%) also get a solid boost.
Volvo V40 sales are up 84% in June.
Model-wise, the Volvo V70 holds onto the top spot, helped with a handful of demo S90 and V90 to 2.729 sales (+10%), distancing the VW Golf at 2.354 (+36%) and the Volvo XC60 back on the podium thanks to deliveries up 31% to 2.019 and 5.6% share vs. 3.5% so far in 2016. A facelift enables the Volvo V40 to surge 84% to #6, the Audi A4 is boosted up 69% by the new model to #8 and re-enters the year-to-date Top 10 at #10 and the Fiat Ducato holds strong at #9. Further down, the Mitsubishi Outlander is up 17 spots on May to #23, the Volvo XC90 up 25 to #24 and the Renault Kadjar up 25 to #30.
