Canada May 2016: FCA scores strongest month ever, market down 2%
Dodge Grand Caravan sales are up 88% in May.

After reaching an all-time high in April, the Canadian new falls to a three-year May low with sales down 1.6% to 194.866 units. The year-to-date tally is however up 5.6% to a record-breaking 798.089 units after five months. Market leader FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles delivers its best-ever monthly sales figure this month at 31.724 units, up 0.3% year-on-year. It is followed by Ford Motor at 29.374, General Motors at 22.939, Toyota Motor at 22.158 and Hyundai-Kia at 22.116. Brand-wise, Ford remains master in command with 14.7% share above Toyota (9.9%), Honda (8.8%), Hyundai (7.7%) and Chevrolet (6.7%). Audi (+15%), Scion (+61%) and Volvo (+19%) post significant gains.
The new generation propels the Hyundai Tucson up 82%.
In the models ranking, the Ford F-Series reigns supreme again thanks to sales up 22% to 12.803 above the Ram Pickup (-4%) and Honda Civic (+10%) while the Dodge Grand Caravan continues to impress in its last year of production with sales up 88% to 6.169 at #4. The Toyota RAV4 is up 15% to hold onto the SUV pole position at #6 overall, the Hyundai Tucson is up 82% on May 2015 to #17, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is up 40% to #24 and the Kia Sportage up 107% to #25.
