The all-time monthly record set last month only lasted one month: at 23.131 units (+12%), April 2016 is the new largest sales month in the history of Czech Republic. The year-to-date total is now up 12% to a record 82.729 units after four months. For once home grown carmaker Skoda underperforms with sales up just 5% to 7.481 and 32.3% share, with Volkswagen at #2 (-4%) and Ford at #5 (-8%) the only manufacturers to lose ground year-on-year in the Top 10. Hyundai is up 30% to 1.921 sales and 8.3% share while Dacia, up a whopping 50% on April 2015, hits its largest monthly score ever in the Czech Republic at 1.251 deliveries. Mercedes is up 51% to break into the Czech Top 10 at #10, and outside, notice Jaguar (+450%), Honda (+90%), Suzuki (+49%). Year-to-date, the biggest improvers so far are Jaguar (+131%), Honda (+67%), Alfa Romeo (+66%), Mercedes (+52%), Audi (+51%), Suzuki (+ 50%) and Mazda (+46%). At the other end of the scale, Lexus (-22%), Volkswagen (-12%) and Fiat (-9%) disappoint. Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia holds on tight to its pole position ahead of the Fabia, Rapid and Superb while the Hyundai i30 is the best-selling foreigner at #5 and 3.2% share.
