At 88.601 registrations, the Indonesian new car market seems to finally have bottomed out as this result is only 3% below November 2014 which was down 19% on a year earlier. The year-to-date total still stands at a paltry 923.212 units, down 18% on the same period in 2014. Toyota unsurprisingly leads the brands ranking year-to-date and has just crossed the 300.000 unit-mark at 300.317, holding almost one-third of the overall market. Daihatsu gains 1.5 percentage point of market share compared to its FY2014 score at 16.8% although Honda, gaining over 3 percentage points to 16%, is now breathing on its neck. Suzuki (12%) and Mitsubishi (11.5%) recede slightly.

Model-wise, the Toyota Avanza is the leader once again but the ‘new generation effect’ is already puffing out with a low 14% market share for the nameplate this month. Reversely the Low Cost Green Car Toyota Agya breaks its market share record to a stunning 7.8% thanks to 6.850 sales. The Honda Brio Satya for its part delivers a ranking (#5), volume (3.736) and market share (4.3%) personal bests this month, frankly outselling the Daihatsu Ayla (#8). Note when adding the Brio ‘standard’ variant, Brio sales in Indonesia are just four units short off hitting 5.000 this month. The Toyota Rush (#7) and Yaris (#16) are also strong.
