No rest for Vietnamese car buyers: the market is up another 50% year-on-year in October to 22.368 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total up 53% to 185.811 units. Note medium and heavy commercial vehicles account for 41.5% of the total Vietnamese market in October. Mainly thanks to its medium-heavy commercial vehicle range, Thaco-Kia (24.2%) keeps Toyota (19.5%) at bay, with Ford reclaiming the third spot it holds year-to-date off Mazda thanks to 2.139 sales for a strong 9.6% share, with Honda, Chevrolet and Isuzu in tow. The Toyota Vios remains the most popular light vehicle in Vietnam with 1.177 sales, distancing the Kia Morning (1.028) and Ford Ranger (1.002) both more than one percentage point of market share above their year-to-date levels. The Honda CR-V pushes up 10 spots on September to #8, the Mazda BT-50 up 6 to #9 and the Toyota Prado reappears at #24.
