Austria September 2015: Skoda Fabia leaps 166% to 2nd place

New car sales in Austria are up 4% year-on-year in September to 25.966 registrations, almost bringing the year-to-date total back into positive territory at 237.193 units, down just 0.07% or 170 sales. Volkswagen evolves with the market at +4% and 16.9% share, Skoda jumps back up 5 spots on August to #2 overall thanks to sales up 25%, Hyundai is down one spot to a still very impressive third position with 7.4% share vs. 6.2% year-to-date, BMW is up 11% to #7, Seat up 12% to #9, Mercedes up 17% to #10 and Fiat up 19% to #11. Further down, notice Kia up 20%, Volvo up 33%, Toyota up 69%, Smart up 70%, Jeep up 184% and Jaguar up 211%. Model-wise, the VW Golf remains the best-seller in the country by far and despite sales now including the Golf Sportsvan down 3% on September 2014. The Skoda Fabia leaps 166% year-on-year and 8 spots on August to a shiny 2nd place, the new generation now in full gear. Notice also the Seat Ibiza up 45% to #5, the VW Tiguan up 90% to #6 and the Ford Fiesta up 49 ranks on last month to #9.
