New car sales in Lithuania are up by a whopping 27% year-on-year in July to 1.194 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total to 11.183 units, up 16% on 2014. After hitting 22.6% market share in July, Fiat remains on top this month but falls down to 16.5%, only 11 units above Volkswagen at 15.6%. Toyota (11.4%), Nissan (9.5%) and Skoda (6.5%) all see their July ranking unchanged. Opel is back inside the Lithuanian Top 10 with a vengeance at #6 with 4.9% share. One thing to bear in mind for Lithuania is the fact that new car sales are significantly biased by re-exports to other European Union countries and shouldn’t therefore be taken too literally. The Fiat 500 should in all likelihood keeps the models pole position in Lithuania over the period, not that it would be the most frequent car on Lithuanian roads however.
