Rep of Macedonia May-June 2015: Citroen C-Elysée impresses

Today we update both May and June data for the Republic of Macedonia, thanks to Central European market data specialists www.ceauto.co.hu. In May the Macedonian new car market is up a splendid 27% year-on-year to 452 registrations and the Citroen C-Elysée surprises everyone by snatching the pole position with 7.3% share whereas it hadn’t ranked inside the Macedonian Top 10 since last November (#10). The Hyundai ix35 is #2 for the second month running but holds onto its #1 year-to-date spot at a comfortable 6.8% share, now distancing the VW Passat at 4.7%. The Ford Fiesta (#3) and Kia Sportage (#5) are strong while the Dacia Duster (#6) reappears inside the Top 10 and the April leader, the Skoda Octavia, tumbles down to #7.

In June, the market is up an even more impressive 43% year-on-year to 561 deliveries, lifting the year-to-date total halfway through the year to 2.519 units, up 19% on 2014. This time the Dacia Sandero shoots up from out of the May Top 10 directly to the top spot with 4.8%, sharing the highest honours with the Skoda Rapid who by the same token reclaims the #2 year-to-date rank off the VW Passat. The Hyundai ix35 continues to be slightly subdued at 4.5% share but is still the year-to-date leader at 6.3%. Leader in May, the Citroen C-Elysée lodges a second consecutive month inside the Top 10 at an excellent 4th place and is now #10 year-to-date, the VW Golf is back up to #7 and the Peugeot 208 up to #9.
