According to data published by the Asociación de Representantes Automotrices del Perú (Araper), the Peruvian new car market is down a harsh 16% year-on-year over the First Half of 2015 to 36.097 registrations, a figure that is wildly inconsistent with the 180.000+ units sold over the Full Year of 2014 which would assume around 90.000 units at half year and an actual 60% drop. Toyota remains sovereign in this depressed context with over 22% share while Nissan jumps onto the podium at 11.9%, overtaking Hyundai at 11.1%. Suzuki and Kia round up the Top 5.
