After declining for the first time in 16 months in April, the Egyptian market’s cooling down accelerates: down a worrying 14% year-on-year in May to 20.152 registrations which brings the year-to-date total to 114.087 units, now up just 5% on 2014. The Chevrolet TFR establishes its total domination of the models ranking by selling 2.175 units for a 10.8% market share vs. just 1.574 and 7.2% for the Hyundai Verna, once upon a time the unchallenged leader of the Egyptian market. The Hyundai ix35 continues its impressive progression and leaps onto the podium thanks to a round 1.000 sales and 4.6% share, knocking the Nissan Sunny down to #4. Solid month for the Toyota Corolla at #5 and the Geely Emgrand 7 at #7 with the Mitsubishi Lancer EX stable at #6. The Speranza Envy stays at #13 vs. #28 year-to-date, the Peugeot 301 is up 27 spots on April to #17, the Subaru XV up 93 to #30 and the new generation BMW X5 brilliantly lands directly at #53.
