Czech Republic February 2015: Skoda Fabia at highest in 20 months

The Czech new car market is up a huge 28% year-on-year in February to a record 16,383 registrations (previous best for the month: 13,544 in 2012), bringing the year-to-date total to 32,110 units, up 22% on 2014. However exclusive data from Medea Research show that 17% of new cars registered in the country this month were re-exported to other European Union nations, accounting for the majority of the year-on-year increase. Skoda remains sovereign at home with 5,180 sales and 31.6% share above Volkswagen with 2,234 units (1,583 without re-exports), Hyundai at 1,330 and Ford at 1,054 (514 without re-exports). Dacia, #5 in the overall ranking with 869 deliveries, is #4 once re-exports are removed. Notice also Renault up to #6 and Peugeot back in the Top 10 brands.
The VW Golf Sportsvan is up to #15 in the Czech Republic this month.
The Skoda Octavia dominates the models ranking as usual with an imposing 10.5% share and 1,664 sales, however this month its little sister the Fabia, finally reaping the benefits of a new generation, hits its highest market share at home in 20 months (since June 2013) at 6.4% and 1,052 units, and could come tease the Octavia for the pole position in the coming months. The Skoda Rapid is knocked down to #3 with 6.1% but remains #2 year-to-date for now. The Skoda Yeti is up two spots on January to #5, the Dacia Duster brilliantly maintains itself inside the Top 10 at #9, the VW Polo is up 6 ranks to #10 (64% are re-exports though), the VW Golf Sportsvan shoots up to #15, the Renault Captur is up to #28 and the Peugeot 2008 up to #36.
