New car sales in Denmark are back into positive in August at +2% year-on-year to an all-time high 14,604 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 127,671 units, up 6% on 2013 and here to an all-time record after 8 months. The VW Up smoothly lodges its 25th consecutive month in pole position thanks to 711 sales and 4.9% share, however this is below its year-to-date level of 5.6%. Plus the Toyota Aygo, now lifted by the new generation, is up to 4.5% share in 2nd place. Can the Up reign come to an end soon? We welcome two new nameplates inside the monthly Danish Top 10 this month: the Peugeot 108 is up 15 spots on July to break into the Top 5 in 5th place thanks to 443 sales and 3% share – its best monthly ranking in the world so far, and the Mitsubishi Space Star is an instant hit here: up a huge 76 ranks for its first full month of sales to #9 at 333 units and 2.3% share.
