Iran May 2014: Production back on track at +146%!

Iran Khodro Samand production is up a huge 638% year-on-year this month!

Iran is back in business for good: car production is up a tremendous 146% year-on-year to 94,840 units in Ordibehesht 1393 which roughly corresponds to May 2014 in the Persian calendar. Interestingly, the Saipa Pride is actually down 3% year-on-year to 17,090 units and even though it holds onto the top spot it is not the most produced design this month in Iran. The Peugeot Pars (+198%) and 405 (+98%) indeed add up to 20,436 units this month. But the most spectacular improvement is delivered by local brand Iran Khodro with the Samand up a huge 638% year-on-year to land in third place with 8,905 units. The Iran Khodro Runna (+232%), Peugeot 206 (+179%) and Saipa Tiba (+155%) also impress.
