As is the tradition on BSCB we have a look at the Thai pick-up ranking each month. Why? Because Thailand is the 1 ton pick-up factory of the world and it’s always interesting to see how these fare ‘at home’. Sales of pick-up trucks in Thailand are down a very harsh 38% year-on-year in February to just 30,675 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 61,186 units, down 38.5% on 2013. Down to #2 at the same time last year, the Toyota Hilux is back in pole position thanks to 11,725 sales and 38.2% share, down 31% year-on-year while the Isuzu D-Max is down to 2nd place at 10,447 units, down 43%. Only one model stays afloat: the Ford Ranger is amazingly up 1% on February 2013 to 2,084 sales and 6.8% share.
