Romania March 2014: Dacia Dokker back up to 4th place

Now we’re talking. Romanian new car sales are up a mammoth 38% year-on-year in March to 4,577 registrations, that’s the 4th consecutive month of year-on-year gain and the third double-digit gain in the last 4 months. Year-to-date total is up 19% to 13,345 units. As is the rest of Europe, would Romania now be on the mend? Local champion Dacia is up an even more impressive 64% on March 2013 to grab 33.6% of the market vs. 29.6% year-to-date. The models charts podium is identical to FY2013 and YTD2014 with the Dacia Logan in the lead (16.8% share) followed by the Dacia Duster (7.5%) and Skoda Octavia (6.6%). Up from outside the Top 80 in February to #4 with 225 units and 4.9%, the Dacia Dokker delivers its 2nd best month ever after last December when it reached #3 with 303 sales and 5.4% share, and the Dacia Sandero is up 9 spots on last month to #5 and a very solid 4.1% market share, making it 4 Dacias in the Top 5.
