Mexico November 2013: Chevrolet Aveo at highest share in 1 year

New car sales in Mexico are up a splendid 9% year-on-year in November to 100,423 registrations, the strongest November figure since 2006 and bringing the year-to-date total to 943,999 units, up 8% on 2012 and now assured to pass the 1 million mark by the end of the year for the first time since 2008. After reclaiming the top spot last month, the Chevrolet Aveo now takes off to 7,302 sales and 7.3%, its highest market share in the country in exactly one year, since November 2012. Its year-to-date total now stands at an unassailable 56,624 units and 6% vs. 49,727 and 5.3% for the VW Clasico and 43,884 and 4.6% for the Nissan Versa.

The antediluvian Nissan Tsuru continues to amaze with a 58% year-on-year gain this month at #4 and 3,862 sales, as does the Nissan Tiida sedan, doubling its volume vs. November 2012 to #6 with 2,417 units. The Nissan Sentra is up two spots on October but down 13% year-on-year at #7, the Nissan March is back inside the Top 10 at #8, making it 5 Nissans in the Top 8, the Honda CR-V is up 63% year-on-year to #9 and the Renault Duster edges out the Chevrolet Trax at 1,367 sales vs. 1,258. Brand-wise, notice Toyota up 43% year-on-year, Mazda up 46%, Fiat up 132%, BMW up 31%, Mitsubishi up 19% and Peugeot up 45%.
