The French new car market resists for now: still up 2% year-on-year over the first 18 days of November. Interestingly, the Citroen C3 is still on top thanks to sales up 40% to 2,818 now that local strikes are a thing of the past… It is very unlikely it will remain #1 until the end of the month though (it would be a first for the nameplate!), as the Peugeot 208 now stable year-on-year at 2,362 units, and the Renault Clio IV up 13% to 2,332 sales are both catching on.

Confirming its new ranking record reached last month (#4), the Peugeot 2008 is already up to 4th place at 1,919 units. Can it already dream of a podium ranking by month-end like the Renault Captur did in September? Anything is possible in this new world populated with small SUV – the Captur is back inside the Top 10 at #10 and should lodge a 6th consecutive month inside the French Top 5 by the time November comes to an end. The Dacia Sandero is having the time of its life this month, up 140% year-on-year to #5, while both the VW Golf VII (#6) and Citroen C4 Picasso II (#8) also shine.
