An estimated 1,999 new light vehicles found a buyer in Bulgaria in September, that’s a nice 7% year-on-year increase. The year-to-date total now stands at 17,782 units, down a minuscule 0.2% on 2012. Remember Bulgarian new car sales do not reflect the ‘real’ situation in the country as a large portion (rumoured to be as much as 30%) is re-exported to other European countries. As always very volatile, the models ranking is dominated this month and for the first time ever by the Renault Clio IV thanks to 116 sales and 5.8%, lifting it up to #5 year-to-date, while its SUV brother the Captur is up a massive 35 spots on August to reach an outstanding 3rd place ex-aequo with the Kia Sportage at 58 units and 2.9%, its highest ranking so far in the world equal with France. As a result Renault is by far the #1 brand in the country this month with just under 15% share.
The Great Wall Hover H6 makes its first European appearance in Bulgaria
Solely thanks to a huge month of August (15% share!) and even though it is down to #7 this month, the Dacia Dokker remains the most popular vehicle in the country so far in 2013 with 580 sales and 3.3% ahead of the Kia Sportage at 540 units and 3% and the Nissan Qashqai, #2 again this month, with 503 sales and 2.8%. Notice also the Toyota Corolla up 50 spots to #15 thanks to the new generation making its way into dealerships, the Chevrolet Trax up 55 to #59, Peugeot 2008 up 62 to #70 and the arrival in the ranking of a 6th Great Wall model: the Hover H6 at #88 with 5 units sold this month.
