Gabon 6 months 2013: Toyota #1 at 33.4%, Ford up to #3

After reaching a record 5,925 units in 2011, the Gabonese new car market was down 10% in 2012 to 5,340 sales but seems to have found its mojo again in 2013, with sales up 9% year-on-year halfway through the year to 3,062 units. 4WD dominate sales in the country, with Toyota taking the lion’s share of the local market: 33.4% thanks to 1,023 sales over the period. Mitsubishi follows at 13.1% while Ford delivers a very impressive performance: absent from the country for the last decade, it is back with a bang at #3 and 12.4%, ahead of Hyundai and Volkswagen.
