We are still following the station wagon (SW) market in Italy even though it has been in free-fall for a couple of years, simply because Italy is one of the last markets in the world to still buy them en masse! This month the ranking gets another good shake: the Opel Astra is up 4 spots on April to lead the way with 919 sales and 68% SW ratio, enough to bring it back to pole position year-to-date like in 2012.
The Ford Focus is down one rank to #2 at 885 units and 61% SW ratio and also rank #2 year-to-date while the BMW 3 Series is up one to #3 with 809 sales and 68% ratio. There are two newcomers this month: the Renault Clio at #8 with 378 sales and 10% SW ratio and the only representant of the ‘small car’ segment in the Top 10, and the Mercedes C-Class at #9 with 291 units.
