Granted this segment includes two categories: Medium and Large, but the border between these two is getting more and more blurred. Remember this is a segmentation by size, not price so you will see significant variations in the price of the vehicles listed below. There are two models that stand out head and shoulders in this category: the Toyota Camry at #1 with 797,466 sales and the VW Passat at #2 with 782,694 units.

Hyundai Sonata

Nearly 300,000 sales below we find the Hyundai Sonata lodging an outstanding 508,944 world sales, ahead of the Honda Accord at 485,080, Skoda Octavia at 409,600 and BMW 3 Series at 406,752.

The Mercedes C-Class takes the 7th spot in the category (and 45th overall) thanks to 346,204 units, followed by the BMW 5 Series at 337,929, Nissan Altima at 337,259 and the Kia Optima rounding up the Top 10 with 325,927 sales. Notice also the Audi A4 at #11, Audi A6 at #13 thanks to China…

Peugeot Pars

…Peugeot 405/Pars at an unbelievable #19 thanks to its success in Iran in spite of its 25 years of age, Emgrand EC7 at #24 and leading the Chinese charge, Iran Khodro Samand at #28 and Dodge Charger at #34.
