Whereas the UK Passenger Cars market lodged a shiny 5% growth last year, new Light Commercial Vehicle sales were not so lucky and are down 8% year-on-year to 239,641 registrations. At this stage only a brands ranking is available but I will update this post if and when models data comes through. There should be no surprises in pole position with the Ford Transit taking the lead for the 48th consecutive year, especially with the all-new Transit Custom hitting dealership at the end of the year.

But the main event on the LCV market this year in the country is the arrival of Chinese brand Great Wall with the Steed pick-up. After 9 month the model had registered 338 units in the country, and the Full Year total comes at 476 sales and 0.2% share, placing the brand at #15, below Isuzu (2,762), equal with Renault Trucks (476) and above Hyundai (379). So still a very small footprint for the giant Chinese carmaker, and the December score was at a feeble 18 units and 0.2% share, so 2013 will be interesting to follow…
