Poland Full Year 2012: Skoda Octavia #1, Dacia Duster in Top 10

The Polish new car market is down 3% year-on-year in 2012 to 311,732 registrations. The Skoda Octavia manages to lead the models ranking for the 4th consecutive years and behaves like the market at 15,639 sales and 5%, down 3% on 2011. In fact the podium is unchanged on last year, with the Skoda Fabia ranking #2 also for the 4th year in a row at 9,743 units and 3.1%, down 13%. The Opel Astra is down 19% to 8,997 sales and 2.9% but managed to put an end to 44 consecutive months of Skoda Octavia domination in November when it ranked #1 for the first time since February 2009.
The Toyota Yaris is up 13% and 2 spots to #4 at 7,828 units and 2.5% while the Nissan Qashqai is up 18% and 3 ranks to #5 with 7,526 sales and 2.4%. The other great performer in the Top 10 is by far the Dacia Duster, nearly doubling its sales compared to 2011 (+93%) and up 19 spots to land at #9 with 5,875 units and 1.9%. Notice also the Kia Sportage up 8 ranks to #12, the Chevrolet Aveo up 9 to #13, the Hyundai ix35 up 16 to #16 and the Honda Civic up 13 to #22.
Further down, the Peugeot 208 is the most popular all-new model this year at #32 with 2,744 sales, the VW Tiguan is up a huge 40 spots and 113% to #34, the Citroen C4 up 11 to #35, the Chevrolet Cruze up 30 to #43, Dacia Logan up 20 to #44, Chevrolet Spark up 22 to #48, Dacia Sandero up 38 to #49, the Kia Rio sees its sales increase 6-fold to 1,562 at #61, the Skoda Citigo lands at #62, the VW Up! at #66 and the Hyundai i40 at #83.
