The Chinese Light Commercial Vehicle market is up an encouraging 9% year-on-year in December to 456,350 registrations, enabling the Year-end total for 2012 to finish up 1% on 2011 at 4,957,019 units. For a bit of perspective, if the Chinese LCV market was a country it would rank #3 in the world behind only China and the USA… That’s how many vans the Chinese buy each year! No surprise at #1: the Wuling Sunshine holds the top spot for 25th consecutive month with 40,773 sales, albeit down 33% on December 2011.

This figure is to be compared with the 68,787 Ford F-Series sold in the USA in the same period and the 22,698 VW Golf sold in the whole of Europe… The Wuling Hongguang is back up to #2 for the third time in the last 5 months at 32,807 units, just above the Wuling Rongguang/Xingwang, making the podium 100% Wuling for the 4th time this year.
