Iceland mid-September 2012: Kia Cee’d and Sorento strong

254 new vehicles found a buyer in Iceland over the first half of September, down 10% on last month. The year-to-date total now stands at 6,543 units, already well ahead of the Full Year 2011 total (5,475). The Toyota Yaris keeps the pole position one the period with 21 sales and 8.3% share, with the hybrid version now representing 2/3 of this figure! The Skoda Octavia stays solid in 2nd place with 18 units and 7.1% share, well above its 2012 level of 5.1%. The Kia Cee’d manages to climb onto the Icelandic podium, up 4 spots on last month with 12 sales and 4.7% vs. 2.8% ytd.
The next 3 models also lodge excellent performances: the Kia Sorento is up 12 ranks on August to #4 with 3.1%, the Mazda2 is up 25 to #5 and the Renault Megane stays #6 with 2.8% vs. #20 and 1.5% year-to-date. Other great performers this month in Iceland include the Chevrolet Captiva up 15 spots to #9, the Chevrolet Aveo up 9 to #12, the Ford Fiesta up 19 to #13, the Ford Transit up 8 to #14 and the Peugeot 208 up to a best-ever 22nd place.
