New Zealand July 2012: Ford Ranger and Holden Captiva shine

The New Zealand new car market continues on its exceptional run in July, up 25% year-on-year to 8,361 registrations and bringing the year-to-date total to 58,210 units, up 17% on 2011. For the second time this year after April, the Ford Ranger brilliantly leads the overall models ranking with 330 sales and 3.9% share and is now up to #4 year-to-date at 1,770 units and 3%. The Toyota Hilux is only 2 units behind at 328 and keeps the lead in the 2012 ranking with 2,502 sales and 4.3%.
The Holden Captiva leads all passenger cars this month for what should be the very first time in the country, up 4 spots to a shiny third place with 261 units and 3.1% and is #6 year-to-date at 2.5%. The Suzuki Swift (2.9%) and Toyota Corolla (2.8%) follow, at levels way below their year-to-date scores of #3 (3.4%) and #2 (3.7%) respectively. Notice also the Hyundai Santa Fe up 8 spots to #9, the Toyota Camry up to #11, the Honda CR-V up 9 to #19 and the Holden Barina and Honda Civic back in the Top 25.
