France 1-9 July 2012: Citroen C3, Peugeot 208 & VW Polo lead

Weak start of the month in France with new car sales down 12% year-on-year over the first week of July to 40,099 sales. Citroen takes the lead of the manufacturers ranking with 16.9% share, ahead of Peugeot at 15.6% and Renault at 11.7%. Notice Dacia up a huge 89% to #5 with 2,444 sales and 6.1% share, boosted by the Duster up to its best weekly ranking since last November at #5 with 1,111 units and 2.8% while the Lodgy delivers 450 sales and 1.1% share vs. 0.9% over the month of June.
The Citroen C3 is in pole position this week with an excellent 1,788 units and 4.5% and is followed by the Peugeot 208 hitting its highest ranking and market share yet in France at #2 with 1,588 sales and 4%. The VW Polo has another firing start of the month, up to third place at 1,391 units and 3.5%. Notice also the Citroen C4 up to an excellent 6th position with 1,081 sales and 2.7%. The Renault Clio has a tough start, down 26% to #8 now that the 4th generation has been officially unveiled.
