Taiwan January 2012: Corolla leads, Nissan March in Top 10

This month Taiwanese car sales are down 24% year-on-year but January 2011 was exceptionally high. The Toyota Corolla impresses again, lodging its 6th month above 11% market share in the last 6 months and its highest volume in one year at 4,819 units and 11.8%. The Nissan Tiida ranks #2 with 1,857 sales and 4.6%, just above the Nissan Livina at 1,843 units and 4.5% and the Toyota Wish at 1,804 sales and 4.4%.
The Toyota Camry is back above its 2011 level at #5 and 4.3%, the Toyota Yaris is up 3 spots on December to #6, the Toyota RAV4 is down one rank but still way above its traditional level at 3.9% market share this month. A newcomer lands directly in the Top 10: it’s the Nissan March at #9 with 1,229 sales and 3% share. Other good performers this month include the Toyota Innova at #13, Mazda5 at #18, Lexus RX at #22 and Lexus CT at #26.
