Denmark Full Year 2011: Chevrolet Spark leads in record year December 2011: Peugeot 508 up to #2!

In spite of sales down 1% in December at 15,303 units, 2011 is a record year for car sales in Denmark at 169,974 registrations, up 10% on 2010 and beating the 1986 record of 169,386 units by 588 sales.
In December, Denmark is faithful to its volatility reputation with a models rankings turned upside down once again. The VW Passat is in pole position for the 2nd consecutive month at 640 units and 4.2%, followed by the Peugeot 508 reaching its highest ranking so far in any country in the world with 613 sales and 4%, while the Ford Mondeo rounds up the podium at 482 units and 3.1%. Other great December performers include the Citroen C5 at #6, Opel Insignia at #7, Ford S-Max at #8 and Mercedes C-Class at #10.
Over the full year, the Chevrolet becomes Denmark’s best-selling car for the first time with 5,720 sales and 3.4% share, up 35%. The Spark was #1 in Denmark 3 times this year. Down one spot to #2, the Toyota Aygo sells 4,653 units for a 2.7% share, down 6% on 2010, ahead of the VW Passat up a massive 233% and 40 spots on last to 4,505 sales and 2.7% as well.
The Opel Corsa is down 1 spot to #4 but led the market twice, the Peugeot 107 is up 83% and 15 ranks to #5, the VW Polo is up 12% but stays #6, the Hyundai i30 is up 23% and 7 spots to #7 (it was in pole position twice), the Suzuki Swift up 71% and 17 ranks to #10 and the Hyundai i10 up 49% and 13 spots to #11.
Notice also the Kia Picanto up to #14 (it was #1 twice this year), the Peugeot 508 landing directly #24, the Citroen C4 up 201% to #31, the VW Touran up 141% to #36 and the VW Caddy up 772% to #47.
