Algeria November 2011: Hyundai Atos keeps the lead

Another outstanding month for car sales in Algeria, up a massive 61% year-on-year to 23,598 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 270,451 units, up a very respectable 32%. For the third consecutive month, Hyundai is the best-selling brand ahead of Renault, a very rare occurrence. It sells 4,510 units vs. 4,475 for the French brand. And for the 2nd month in a row the Hyundai Atos is the most popular car in the country with a very solid 2,177 sales and 9.2% market share. It is still #2 year-to-date however at 18,103 units and 6.7%.
Just as we thought it had disappeared from the Algerian podium for good, the Dacia Logan is back with a vengeance, up to #2 with 2,052 sales and an excellent 8.7% share, by far its best score in 12 months. It is #5 year-to-date. The Hyundai Accent stays #3 with a robust 7.3% share, well ahead of its 2011 level at 5.8% (#3 also). The Peugeot 207 ranks 4th with a very strong 6.8% share, ahead of the 2011 leader the Renault Symbol at 6.2%. The Chevrolet Sail is down 4 spots to #6 and the VW Polo reappears in the Top 10 at #9.
