Spain September 2011: Renault Megane in pole position

The Spanish car market is down 1.7% this month at 55,648 registrations, with the year-to-date total down 21% at 625,502 units. For the first time in years, the Renault Megane is in pole position in Spain, and by a large margin with 2,133 sales and 3.8% share. It is now #3 in 2011 at 17,686 units and 2.8%.
The Nissan Qashqai also has an excellent month in 2nd place, its best since last February, at 1,722 units and 3.1%, just above the Seat Ibiza up one spot to #3 with 1,719 sales. The Ford Focus is down 3 spots to #4 at 2.8%, followed by the VW Golf (2.6%) and Polo (2.5%).
Notice the Mercedes C Class holding itself within the Top 20 at #18 with 1.6% of the Spanish market and the Peugeot 508 up 10 spots to #25. Further down the ranking, the Citroen DS4 is up to #71, the new Kia Rio is up 19 spots to #72, the Range Rover Evoque lands directly in 82nd position with 180 sales, and the Porsche Cayenne is up no less than 49 spots on August to #97.
