Indonesia June 2011: Toyota Avanza leads, Suzuki APV up

In June, car sales in Indonesia were down slightly at -0.3% year-on-year and 70,157 registrations, bringing the half-year figure to 417,687 units, up 13% on an already record-breaking 2010, thanks to a fantastic first quarter.
Over the first 6 months of the year the Toyota Avanza leads with 85,040 sales or 20.4% share (up from 18.5% in 2010) ahead of its twin the Daihatsu Xenia at 30,963 units and 7.4%. Combined, the two identical models reach a whopping 27.8% share… In June, both models improve on these already imposing figures, the Avanza at 21.2% and the Xenia at 7.8%. The Toyota Innova ranks 3rd with 6.2%.
The Suzuki APV has an excellent month at #4 with 3.7%, it was #7 at 2.4% last year. The twins Toyota Rush and Daihatsu Terios both progress at #6 (2.9%) and #7 (2.7%) respectively, while the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is a new entrant in the Top 10 at #8.
