The Polish market continues on its bad run: after losing 25% in 2000, it drops by 32% in 2001 to 327,251 registrations. The best-selling model in the country is still the locally produced Fiat Seicento with 40,515 sales and 12.4% share, however this year we welcome the arrival on the podium of a new force to be reckoned with: the Skoda Fabia.

Skoda Fabia

The Czech model gains no less than 168% on 2000 to land directly in 2nd place with 24,379 units sold for a 7.4% market share! The Daewoo Matiz is relegated to third position with 19,225 sales and 5.9%, down a worrying 57% year-on-year. Up one spot but down 34%, the Fiat Punto ranks 4th at 13,525 units and 4.1%, ahead of the Fiat Uno, surprisingly also up 1 rank to #5, the Daewoo Lanos down 3 spots and 61% and the Peugeot 206 up 4 ranks. Notice the Renault Thalia landing directly at #10.
