China 1992: VW Santana #1, FAW Tianjin Xiali up to #3, market up 45.7%

The Chinese new vehicle market grows 45.7% year-on-year in 1992 to 731,064 units. The five top selling brands gain even more ground than the market. Volkswagen (+68.9%) continues to lead with 11.6% of the market, distancing Isuzu (+147.8%). FAW Tianjin surges 165.9% to grabs the third place, overtaking Toyota (+97.7%) and Beijing Jeep (+6.5%). Nissan (+222.6%) climbs to #5. Notice also Suzuki (+2559.1%), Iveco (+261.3%) and Jiangling (+117.6%) all posting fantastic scores.
The VW Santana (+75.2%) is the best-selling model again while the Isuzu N-Series (+150.1%) climbs one spot on 1991 to #2. The FAW Tianjin Xiali (+165.9%) is up two ranks to land on the third step of the podium, passing the VW Bora (+55.8%) and Beijing Jeep Cherokee (+6.5%). The Nissan Cedric (+307%) leaps up six spots to #5. We welcome the Ford Tempo at #16 and the Citroen Fukang at #20.
