Poland 1992: FSO Polonez Caro and Fiat 126 dominate

The Polish marjet is relatively large, with 430,000 registrations over the first 11 months of 1992. Polish brand FSO (Fabryka Samochodów Osobowych) places the Polonez Caro, a rebodied Fiat 125p built under licence from Fiat, on top of the sales ranking with a massive 78,000 units and 18.1% market share. In second place is none other than the 1976 Fiat 126p, built in Bielsko-Biała. Arguably the most popular car in Poland in the 80’s, it sold 52,821 units over 11 months 1992 for a 12.3% market share. 3,318,674 units would be produced between 1973 and 2000 in Poland. Launched in late 1991 and produced exclusively in Poland, the Fiat Cinquecento takes the 3rd place with 9,129 sales and 2.1%, followed by the Skoda Favorit and the Lada Samara.
