Spain 1988: Opel Kadett new best-seller in millionaire market
The Opel Kadett is the most popular vehicle in Spain in 1988.

The Spanish new car market soars 16.2% year-on-year in 1988 to cross the million annual sales milestone for the first time in history at 1.031.775 units. Renault (+5.6%) only edges up by remains atop the brands charts at 20.3% share while Opel (+20.9%) overtakes Ford (+3.1%) for #2 and Peugeot (+20.8%) bypasses Seat (+3.3%) for #4. Audi (+115%), Volkswagen (+50.4%), Lancia (+50.2%), Citroen (+46.5%) and Fiat (+37.7%) also impress in the Top 15.
The Opel Kadett (+29.1%) takes control of the Spanish models ranking, eclipsing the Seat Ibiza (+5.4%) while the Renault Supercinq (+20.6%) climbs onto the podium for the first time. The Opel Corsa (+11.8%), Renault 11 (-1.8%) and Renault 21 (-8.9%) follow while the Citroen AX (+116.9%) storms into the Top 10 at #8 and the Peugeot 309 (+23.6%) is stuck at #11. Below the Ibiza, Seat places the Marbella (+12%) at #17 and the Malaga (+2.5%) at #18. The Peugeot 405 lands at #19.
