The Top 7 brands are unchanged on last month, with all bar Jeep (-5.7%) achieving double-digit year-on-year gains. Fiat (+26%) trails the market but maintain itself above 20% share, that’s almost double the 11.2% it holds at home in Italy. Volkswagen (+55.5%) soars to 16.1% of the market, in line with its YTD level of 15.9%. Chevrolet (+22.5%), Toyota (+21.4%) and Hyundai (+14.2%) lose share year-on-year with Nissan (+53.9%) outrunning the market at #9. BYD stays at a record 10th place for the fifth consecutive month. Chery (+313.2%), Ram (+160.5%) and GWM (#14) shine below.

Over in the models ranking, the VW Polo (+105.1%) retains the pole position both for the month and YTD with 6% and 5.7% of the market respectively. The Fiat Strada (+42.8%) is kept behind at #2 despite a sturdy year-on-year jump. The Chevrolet Onix (+23.2%) is up to #3 year-to-date, back to the ranking it also held over the Full Year 2023. The VW Saveiro (+70.5%), Fiat Argo (+57.1%) and Chevrolet Tracker (+39%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10. The new BYD Dolphin Mini aka Seagull edges up one spot on March to #24 and ends the month as the best-selling Chinese model again, this time above the Chery Tiggo 7 (+623.9%) and Tiggo 5X (+429.3%) both delivering surreal lifts.
