Malaysia Full Year 2016: Models data now available (BSCB Exclusive)

We now have access to very rare models data for Malaysia over the Full Year 2016. The Perodua Axia is the most popular nameplate in the country for the second year running, following the market at -13% to a slightly improved 15.4% market share. Thanks to a contained 9% drop, the Perodua Alza is up two spots on 2015 to snap the 2nd place overall with 7.9% share, overtaking the Perodua Myvi (-23%) and Proton Saga (-36%). This way, Perodua monopolises the models podium for the first time. There is a big reshuffle in the best-selling foreign models: the Honda HR-V surges 59% to take the lead, breaking into the overall Top 5 at #5. It passes the Honda City (-29%), Toyota Vios (-40%), Nissan Almera (-29%) and Toyota Hilux (-32%).

All-new for this year, the Perodua Bezza brilliantly lands directly in 6th place with 5.2% market share. The Proton Iriz (-4%) remains in the Top 10. Further down, notice the Honda Civic up 82% and 10 spots to #16, the Nissan Navara up 53% and 10 ranks to #19, the Nissan X-Trail up 77% to #24 and the Mazda2 up 82% to #33. The Proton Perdana is back inside the Top 30 thanks to a new model, the Toyota Sienta lands directly at #35. The Mitsubishi Outlander (#60), Proton Ertiga (#72), VW Vento (#93) and Chery H5 (#96) are the other new launches managing a Top 100 ranking in Malaysia in 2016.
