Israel April 2017: Kia snaps top spot in market down 15%

The overall market is down a harsh 15% year-on-year this month to 19.515 units, yet the year-to-date tally remains in positive territory at 118.182 sales, up 4% on the same period last year. Ranking #2 over the Full Year 2016 and so far in 2017, Kia becomes the best-selling carmaker in the country this month thanks to a restrained 7% drop to 2.744 deliveries, bypassing market leader and sister brand Hyundai down 20% to 2.499. Toyota (-6%) and Skoda (-14%) hold the same rankings as year-to-date whereas Suzuki climbs one spot to #5 thanks to sales actually up 6% year-on-year, but Honda is the best performing carmaker in the Top 10 with deliveries up 47% to 725 and 3.7% share at #7 vs. #14 last month and #13 year-to-date. Further down, let’s single out a handful of manufacturers in frank positive territory such as Audi (+55%), BMW (+64%), Dacia (+24%), Isuzu (+93%), Jeep (+37%), Alfa Romeo (+32%) and Cadillac (+41%).
